Meet Gyomei, the Kind-Hearted Demon Slayer

As present-day Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima is a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps. In addition, Gyomei is Genya Shinazugawa's tutor. He is also regarded as one of the strongest Hashira. Envision Gyomei, superhuman in strength, residing in a hip temple with nine orphans he took in as members of his own squad! But there were eerie, night-hating beasts lurking outside the shrine! Gyomei lit unique incense, which smelled like delicious purple flowers and devils detested, to keep everyone safe.

When a child opted to stay outdoors past the hour one day, against the rules, a demon materialized in front of him. He offered to sacrifice other children in order to drive the demon from him in order to rescue himself. He then blew out all of the incense to let the demon inside. While everyone was fleeing, a young girl named "Sayo" stayed behind Gyomei for safety.

In their temple house, Strong Gyomei reared a family of lost children. A spooky devil struck one terrible night! All night long, Gyomei, blind yet courageous, battled the monster with just his bare hands! The monster vanished when the sun eventually dawned, but a terrified Sayo held Gyomei responsible for everything. Gyomei's heart hurt, yet he was still a gentle giant full of kindness.

What Are Gyomei Himejima's Powers?

Gyomei became a Hashira after just two months of training. Hashira is the highest rank attainable by Demon Slayers in the Demon Slayer Corps. The strongest and most skilled fighters in the entire organization are said to be those who hold this position.

Gyomei fights using a unique technique known as Stone Breathing. Gyomei is like a gigantic rock that comes to life and fights evil men! Though extremely difficult to master, this Stone Breathing method is ideal for someone like Gyomei who is blind already. He can feel the earth like no one other and, with his other senses amplified, he transforms himself into a live earthquake for devils! See why he's dubbed the Stone Hashira!

While we have witnessed other demon slayers using swords in battle, Gyomei wields an extremely powerful axe with a spiked ball attached to a chain that is comparable to a wrecking ball for demons!

In addition to his already incredible strength, Gyomei also possesses the capacity to do repetitive actions. His senses can achieve Total Concentration Breathing thanks to this talent. Imagine having super senses—imagine focusing so intensely that you can feel everything around you! While other fighters prepare with specific movements to get there, Gyomei prays constantly. He may fight even more powerfully if he concentrates on his prayers!

Does Being Pathetic Make Gyomei Strong in Demon Slayer?

Gyomei is a very kind giant, despite being the greatest demon slayer. Not only is he religious, but he prays constantly because it gives him strength to focus on the wonderful things in life. He may initially be wary of strangers, but as soon as he gains your confidence, he will always be your friend! That is the reason he is such a great character!

Forget about muscles; Gyomei may be the strongest demon slayer! His emotions are the source of his true strength. His intense sadness and rage—especially when it comes to defending someone—make him stronger. When he cries during a battle, it's not a sign of weakness—rather, it's his strength coming out! Gyomei is a kind giant who rewrites the standards for what makes a powerful hero!
